FCI Art Show

We’re excited to announce that the Hanson Family Jazz Band will be providing music entertainment at the FCI Art Show and Auction! The band has been playing a variety of jazz around Madison since 1981. The original band was lead by Gene Hanson and featured his wife Betty on vocals.  Today’s three members consist of original members Erik (drums) and David (piano) Hanson, along with David’s daughter Melissa Thorson-Hanson on vocals.

Caricatures by Bernie Tennis

After receiving his degree in an unrelated field Bernie Tennis discovered that his work did not provide him with a great deal of satisfaction, so he set about rediscovering the artist within him. He enrolled in university art courses and began drawing and painting constantly. Though he would draw anything, his favorite subjects have always been people. Gradually he began to move into the business of portraiture and caricature. Now his work is done live at parties, festivals, art shows, and every other type of event imaginable.

“While I work I keep my primary objective in mind: to produce a personalized drawing which draws upon the uniqueness of each individual.”
